Main St Parent Newsletter 4/14/25

Hello Main Street Parents!

I hope you and your family were able to enjoy a memorable Spring Break!  Can you believe we are on the home stretch and there are only seven weeks left in this school year!

When you are back on campus tomorrow you will see the new fences that have been installed, one in front of rooms 11 and 12, and one in front of the school office.  In my opinion, they look like they have always been there.

Thank you very much for the support that you were able to provide for the Heron Hustle aka the Jog A Thon!  Your contributions amounted to over $32,000, which the Friends of Main Street (FOMS) will use to support your child’s education.

As we move closer to the end of the year, I respectfully ask that families refrain from requesting a specific teacher for next year.  I do welcome input on your child's educational needs, and you can email that to me (cbroadhurst@suesd.org).  If your student will not be attending Main Street next year (and we think they are), could you please let the office know and also complete this form

Here is information about a free, open-to-the-public Math Festival that is being hosted at Aptos Junior High School:

• When: April 19th, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

• Where: Aptos Junior High, 1001 Huntington Sr., Aptos, CA 95003

• Fun, hands-on math puzzles and games for all ages

• Free and open-to-the-public

• Free snacks provided

Campus Kids Connection (CKC) after school enrollment for 2025/26 is open, and the link to register is  CKC Main Street 25/26  If you are interested in CKC providing morning care for your child, please fill out the before school care form on the same link. 

State (CAASPP) testing for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students resumes on April 21, and I am linking the schedule here.  Help your child to be better prepared for the CAASPP tests by visiting the practice tests.  

Thank you for using the drop off zone for that purpose in the mornings.  If you want to sit in your vehicle and enjoy time with your child, please park in the regular parking lot.  Thank you for your cooperation.  Please do not park in the drop off zone or leave your car unattended in the drop off zone.  Also, please do not drop off your child before 7:50 AM, as we do not have adult supervision until that time.  

A reminder that if your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option by here.  Students who access this receive attendance credit.

¡Espero que usted y su familia hayan podido disfrutar de unas vacaciones de primavera memorables!  ¿Puedes creer que estamos en la recta final y que solo quedan siete semanas de este año escolar?

Cuando regrese al campus mañana, verá las nuevas cercas que se han instalado, una frente a los salones 11 y 12, y otra frente a la oficina de la escuela.  En mi opinión, parece que siempre han estado ahí.

La inscripción extraescolar de Campus Kids Connection (CKC) para 2025/26 está abierta y el enlace para registrarse es  CKC Calle Principal 25/26  Si está interesado en que CKC brinde cuidado matutino a su hijo, complete el formulario de cuidado antes de la escuela en el mismo enlace. 

Las pruebas estatales (CAASPP) para estudiantes de 3.º, 4.º y 5.º grado se reanudan el 21 de abril y estoy vinculando el calendario. aquí.  Ayude a su hijo a estar mejor preparado para las pruebas CAASPP visitando el pruebas de practica.  

Gracias por utilizar la zona de entrega para ese propósito en las mañanas.  Si desea sentarse en su vehículo y disfrutar del tiempo con su hijo, estacione en el estacionamiento habitual.  Gracias por su cooperación.  Por favor, no se estacione en la zona de entrega ni deje su automóvil desatendido en la zona de entrega.  Además, no deje a su hijo antes de las 7:50 a. m., ya que no contamos con supervisión de un adulto hasta esa hora.  

Recuerde que si su hijo necesita estar ausente, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo llamando aquí.  Los estudiantes que acceden a esto reciben crédito de asistencia.
