Hello Main Street Parents!

Thank you very much for the support that you were able to provide for the Heron Hustle aka the Jog A Thon!  Your contributions amounted to over $32,000, which the Friends of Main Street (FOMS) will use to support your child’s education.

I wanted to share information about a free, open-to-the-public Math Festival that will be taking place at Aptos Junior High School. Here are the details:

• Aptos Junior High School Math Festival

• When: April 19th, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

• Where: 1001 Huntington Sr., Aptos, CA 95003

• Fun, hands-on math puzzles and games for all ages

• Free and open-to-the-public

• Free snacks provided

English Language Arts testing for 4th and 5 th grade students starts this week, and I am linking the schedule here.  Science testing is only for 5th grade students.  

Help your child to be better prepared for the CAASPP tests by visiting the practice tests.  

Campus Kids Connection (CKC) after school enrollment for 2025/26 is open, and the link to register is  CKC Main Street 25/26  If you are interested in CKC providing morning care for your child, please fill out the before school care form on the same link.

Thank you for using the drop off zone for that purpose in the mornings.  If you want to sit in your vehicle and enjoy time with your child, please park in the regular parking lot.  Thank you for your cooperation.  Also, please do not park in the drop off zone or leave your car unattended in the drop off zone.

At the end of the month assembly on Friday we acknowledged 213 students that had 100% attendance for the previous four weeks (the month of March).  I’m happy to report that this is an increase on the 173 students that had 100% attendance for the month of February.  At the end of April we’ll hold another assembly and hope to see a bigger number of students with 100% attendance.

A reminder that if your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option by here.  Students who access this receive attendance credit.

Las pruebas de artes del lenguaje inglés para estudiantes de 4.º y 5.º grado comienzan esta semana y estoy vinculando el calendario. aquí.  Las pruebas de ciencias son solo para estudiantes de quinto grado.  

Ayude a su hijo a estar mejor preparado para las pruebas CAASPP visitando el pruebas de practica.  

La inscripción extraescolar de Campus Kids Connection (CKC) para 2025/26 está abierta y el enlace para registrarse es  CKC Calle Principal 25/26  Si está interesado en que CKC brinde cuidado matutino a su hijo, complete el formulario de cuidado antes de la escuela en el mismo enlace.

Gracias por utilizar la zona de entrega para ese propósito en las mañanas.  Si desea sentarse en su vehículo y disfrutar del tiempo con su hijo, estacione en el estacionamiento habitual.  Gracias por su cooperación.  También, no se estacione en la zona de entrega ni deje su automóvil desatendido en la zona de entrega.

En la asamblea de fin de mes el viernes reconocimos a 213 estudiantes que tuvieron 100% de asistencia durante las cuatro semanas anteriores (el mes de marzo).  Me complace informar que este es un aumento con respecto a los 173 estudiantes que tuvieron una asistencia del 100% durante el mes de febrero.  A finales de abril realizaremos otra asamblea y esperamos ver un mayor número de estudiantes con un 100% de asistencia.

Recuerde que si su hijo necesita estar ausente, puede acceder a la opción de estudio independiente a corto plazo llamando aquí.  Los estudiantes que acceden a esto reciben crédito de asistencia.
