Hello Main Street Parents!
I am hoping to see you this Wednesday here at Main Street School for the
“Community Voice Gathering”. The purpose of this gathering is to share current district priorities with you, answer your questions, and hear your opinions. The date for the Community Voice Gathering to be held here at Main Street is February 26, 2025 @ 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Finally, please fill out the survey linked here so that we can have multiple ways to get your input.
The next Main Street Chess session for 2nd and 3rd grade students starts on 2/28/25 and goes until 4/4/25. The chess club meets from 12:15-1:15 PM on Fridays, in room 105. If you want your student to be part of the club email cbroadhurst@suesd.org
Clear your calendars for Friday, March 21, 2025, for the Main Street Jog-A-Thon, otherwise known as the ‘Heron Hustle’. This FOMS organized event takes place at Soquel High School, and I’m hoping we get lots of Main Street families to attend and cheer on our students as the work on their fitness and help to raise funds for our school!
Although state (CAASPP) testing doesn’t begin for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students until the end of March, I am linking the schedule here so that you are aware of when your student will be testing in either English Language Arts (ELA) or math. Science testing is only for 5th grade students. Typically students test in the morning and I will share the completed schedule when it has been finalized. If you want to look at practice tests or give your 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student opportunities to better prepare for the CAASPP tests, visit this link.
We will be recognizing students with 100% attendance from 1/31/25 -2/28/25 at the school assembly on 2/28/25. A reminder that if your child needs to be absent you can access the short term independent study option by here. Students who access this receive attendance credit.
School will not be in session on Monday, March 17th
