Hello Main Street Parents!
This week we have the Career Cafe, which is being organized by our school counselor Betsy Crawford. On Tuesday and Thursday our students will listen to various parents who will talk about their chosen careers and the pathway to their chosen career. Thanks to Betsy for organizing and to our speakers for volunteering their time.
Thank you to all families that were able to purchase Drive for School Tickets and support the Friends of Main Street (FOMS). The draw takes place next week on 10/27/24, thank you for supporting this fundraiser and I wish you good luck.
The FOMS meeting for October takes place this Tuesday, October 22, from 6:30-8:00 PM in room 28.
If you need to retake your school photographs, the photographers will be on campus on Thursday, October 24. Contact the school office (464 5650) if you have any questions.
On October 31, there will be a Halloween event at Main Street where all students who are participating will parade on the black top. The event begins at 8:40 AM and goes until approximately 9:20 AM. Music will be provided by Marc Lewis and the event will be MC’d by our intervention teacher Beth Willen. Classes will gather on the black top with their buddy class and at the appropriate time, each buddy class pairing will parade around the blacktop. Please note that replica weapons are not permitted on campus, and that if a costume includes a mask, it may only be worn during the parade part of the day (not during break, lunch or class time). If your student does not want to participate in the Halloween parade, be sure to let your child’s teacher know.
The chess club for 2nd and 3rd grade students will be starting Friday, November 8th and going every Friday until December 20th. The club takes place in room 104 from 12:15-1:15 PM. If your 2nd or 3rd grade student would like to be a part of the club email cbroadhurst@suesd.org.

Join the Fun at the Soquel Elementary Fall Carnival, which is being held on October 25th from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Enjoy fun games, activities, and local entertainment, plus delicious food, drinks, and treats for sale. Entry is free, and game wristbands will be available for purchase. Bring your family and friends for a fantastic time—you won’t want to miss this exciting event!

Esta semana tenemos el Career Café, organizado por nuestra consejera escolar Betsy Crawford. El martes y jueves nuestros estudiantes escucharán a varios padres que hablarán sobre las carreras que eligieron y el camino hacia la carrera que eligieron. Gracias a Betsy por organizarnos y a nuestros oradores por ofrecer su tiempo como voluntarios.

El club de ajedrez para estudiantes de 2do y 3er grado comenzará el viernes 8 de noviembre y se extenderá todos los viernes hasta el 20 de diciembre. El club se lleva a cabo en la sala 104 de 12:15 a 13:15. Si su estudiante de segundo o tercer grado desea ser parte del club, envíe un correo electrónico a croadhurst@suesd.org.

La entrada es gratuita y se podrán comprar pulseras del juego. Traiga a su familia y amigos para pasar un momento fantástico: ¡no querrá perderse este emocionante evento!
