Hello Main Street Parents!
It’s official, 25% of the school year has already happened ! Do you find it hard to believe how quickly time passes?
I hope you were able to learn about how your child is progressing during the parent conferences that were held last week. A proven method for increased student learning is a strong home/school bond, so please communicate with your child’s teacher. Having positive school attendance also increases student achievement, and with that in mind;
School attendance has been up for the beginning of the year and for the first part of October our attendance rate is 94.5%. I’m hoping we can hit 96% attendance by the end of the month. Regarding attendance, 25% of our students have perfect attendance, and 87% have missed four days or less. Of the 13% that have missed five or more days, we are monitoring attendance and seeing how we can support families to increase their attendance rate. While I understand that from time to time a student is not well enough to attend, I do thank you for sending your child to school regularly.
I hope you were able to claim some of your lost and found items last week. Unclaimed clothing items will now be donated to a charitable organization.
At the time of writing you have seven days to get your Drive For Schools tickets. The Friends of Main Street (FOMS) have a goal to raise $20,000, and if we do, we’ll celebrate with an exciting magic show for the students on November 8th. Ticket sales end on October 20th. ¡Es oficial, ya ha pasado el 25% del año escolar! ¿Te resulta difícil creer lo rápido que pasa el tiempo?
Espero que haya podido conocer cómo está progresando su hijo durante las conferencias de padres que se llevaron a cabo la semana pasada.
